Emanuel Mexico Mission's Vision

Since the conception of Casa de Niños now Emanuel Mexico Mission its goal and purpose remains the same.  To make disciples.  

As the years have gone by on the mission field our strategies have adapted to meet the needs of the people inside the mission as well those who surround us.  It is important to remember to "keep the main thing the main thing."  To make disciples.

The following scripture is an ever present reminder of the purpose for which EMM came into existence in 1972 and continues to the present day.  

Matthew 28 19-20  "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."

All efforts for preaching, teaching, sharing, feeding and loving at EMM are to be aligned with this scripture in mind at all times.  

The physical structure remains the same but with a new purpose of how to make disciples.  For years it concentrated its focus solely on the needs of children who were abused , abandoned or neglected.  At the same time it pursued the evangelization of the inner city which surrounds the mission as well as helping churches throughout Mexico.  

Today the Ontañon Church of Christ (OCC) which was founded solely by our ministry in 1992 continues and uses the facility as its main physical structure.  Through this relationship between EMM and OCC we are able to better serve the community surrounding the mission and the Christian community of San Luis Potosi, Mexico.   How, by hosting a score of Christian events such as youth retreats, youth conferences, leadership seminars, church meals, food pantry, programs such as VBS, united prayer meetings, opportunities for the neighborhood children, youth and adults.  This is just a few of the opportunities we have had not only the past few years but for the 30 plus years we have been involved in the ministry.  As you can see the goal and purpose is reaching far more people than it had done in the past as strictly a children's home.

Jose has been given the gift and passion to teach the gospel in a variety of ways:  

  • Through his leadership of the Ontañon Church of Christ as the lead minister.  
  • Teaching Bible college classes at the Colegio Cristiano del Centro  Bible College.  
  • Leading Christian workshops and youth events as a worship leader and mentor with other missionaries at the Bethshean Mexico Mission of Estancia, Mexico.  
  • Helping church leaders in SLP as a mentor and counselor through bible studies, teaching Christian church doctrine, worship leading and a prayer warrior, 
  • Evangelize the inner city neighborhood surrounding the mission
  • Visitation of its church members with prayer meetings, and bible studies.
  • Providing opportunities for the children of the neighborhood to experience first hand about Jesus, through children's activities such as Vacation Bible School, counseling and tutoring classes.
